EMS – Adjusting the Emissivity Setting on Your eT650D IR Thermometer

The first mode is the EMS or emissivity setting. In this setting, the emissivity can be adjusted to match the material you are measuring.

The default emissivity value of the eT650D is 0.95, which is displayed in the top right corner of the display as ‘ɛ=0.95’ Many materials can be measured at this default setting.

To change the emissivity, verify that the mode is set to EMS and then use the up and down arrows to adjust the setting. The emissivity value will be shown in the upper right hand corner of the display.
