EnnoLogic is proud to announce their sponsorship of the The Making Time Podcast No Forge Maker Challenge 2018 to run through the month of September with judging to be held in October and winners to be announced live on YouTube October 20th.
The Making Time Podcast, hosted by Chad from ManCrafting and Daryl from Dread Knot Woodshop announced the first major Makers Challenge of the podcast, to run throughout the month of September.
Entries to the “No Forge Maker Challenge” will be judged by previous winners of the History Channel’s ‘Forged In Fire” series in late October. Judges include previous Forged in Fire champions Jessica Collins and Mark Hopper, and runners up Eric Leong and Paul Brach.
The No Forge Makers Challenge is being sponsored by ennoLogic, Paul Pinto, Starbond, and The Making Time Podcast.
Open to anyone interested in participating in the challenge, submissions must be received by the Making Time Podcast no later than 11:59 P.M. September 30, 2018.
The challenge is designed to give makers the opportunity to demonstrate metal working skills without the use of a commercial forge.
Challenge Rules as posted on the Making Time Podcast website are as follows:
“Challengers are tasked to build something out of metal without the aid of a commercial forge. This means that part of your build must require the metal to be heated. This could include something as simple as heating a bar with a map gas torch then bending it to create drawer pulls, or crafting a custom knife from a raw bar of steel. You can build a makeshift charcoal forge, a coffee can propane forge, or just toss some metal into a fire and heat it enough to make it submit to your will.”
“The No Forge Challenge will take place over a 30-day period, (Through September 30th), and is open to anyone willing to take on the challenge. Challengers are required to document their project with photos or videos, and their entries must be submitted to the Making Time Website by 11:59PM Sept 30, 2018. Judging will take place over the next 15 days, and we will announce the winner live on YouTube on Saturday October 20th.”
